Privacy
Ink Drop is a small hobby game, run by one person for friends. No accounts, no ads, no tracking across other sites. Last updated 18 October 2026.
Stored in your browser
- Your name and sound setting, so you don't retype them.
- A room token, so a page refresh gives you your seat back. Deleted when you close the tab.
- Your answer to "Count your games in the balance stats and give you a rating?".
- A random player ID, only if you answered Yes. It lets the stats keep your games together when you change name, and gives you a rating. It says nothing about you and is used for nothing else.
Your answer and the player ID expire after 13 months; you are then asked again. Change your mind any time with Remember me at the bottom of the home page: turning it off deletes the ID.
Recorded on the server
When a game with 2 or more players ends, it is saved for balancing the game (choosing ink costs, pen effects, fair maps): date, map and settings, each player's name, pen, score and result, the lines drawn and where the balls went, and the player ID of those who said Yes. Solo practice is not saved.
Only the game's author sees these records. Games are deleted automatically after 25 months.
Your rating
If you said Yes, the server works out a rating and a rank from your saved games (those with at least 2 players who said Yes). It is not stored on its own: it is recalculated from the saved games, so it goes away with them after 25 months or when they are deleted. You see it on the home page; players in a room with you see your rating and rank, and you see theirs.
Legal basis: the author's legitimate interest in balancing the game for the records; your consent for the player ID and the rating.
Who else is involved
- Render runs the game server and Neon stores the records, both in Frankfurt (Germany). Like any host, Render keeps short technical logs, which include IP addresses.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your games, or object to them being kept. Write to 70.avery.07@gmail.com with the name(s) you played under and roughly when. You can also complain to the CNIL.
